Melisa Tropeano’s enthusiasm for PR is what inspired her to establish The MTL Communications Group. The firm began specializing in beauty, fashion and lifestyle, but has since expanded its client base to include travel and hospitality, food and beverage, financial institutions, and not-for-profit organizations.
Melisa’s expertise has been featured in such media outlets as CBS, Redbook, Money For Lunch, The Star-Ledger, 103.5 KTU, and The New York Times. One of Melisa’s biggest personal career coups came when she was invited to be the cover mom for Working Mother magazine’s Mother’s Day issue, highlighting her entrepreneurial success for managing a start-up company and balancing several charity activities, all while raising twin children. The feature garnered notoriety for Melisa and her clients, giving The MTL Communications Group national exposure as a PR powerhouse.
A graduate of Seton Hall University, Melisa began her career as a sales and marketing liaison for Johnson and Johnson. She then transitioned to publicity, where she worked at a Manhattan-based PR firm on mass and luxury brands before founding The MTL Communications Group in 2006.
